Pittsburgh Eatery Ordered To Close, Under Investigation
A Pittsburgh eatery is in tons of trouble with the Allegheny County Health Department.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has shut down a Pittsburgh eatery and labeled it under investigation in an official report.
The eatery is Savvy on Perrysville Avenue on Pittsburgh's North Side.
The eatery was opening without a valid health permit. The first-floor kitchen is being remodeled without any approved plans. The entire establishment is undergoing extensive remodeling but has not submitted plans to the health department.

Dented canned goods were in the basement’s dry food storage area. Numerous opened liquor bottleswere found on first and second floors bars and the inspector was unable to identify the source. Savvy has no liquor license.
There were too many to count fruit flies identified on the first and second floor bars.

A "closed" placard is posted at an establishment when an imminent health hazard is identified at a restaurant or kitchen or if it has been operating without proper permits. It is unlawful to operate a food facility with a "closed" placard.
