Pittsburgh Grocery Store Hit With Consumer Alert
The Allegheny County Health Department is warning consumers about the hazards at a Pittsburgh grocery.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Kohli’s Indian Imports grocery on South Craig Street in Oakland.
A Dec. 3 inspection revealed old and new rodent droppings under all shelving, on shelving, behind merchandizers and in boxes of food. Additionally, mutiple bags of white sesame seeds, masoor gota, and split mung bean were found to be chewed and available for sale. Multiple bags of the split mung bean were found to have transparent tape over the rodent holes.
A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
