PITTSBURGH, PA — Hollywood has come to Pittsburgh's North Side. Portions of the new Max medical drama "The Pitt" are being filmed this week at Allegheny General Hospital, which will serve as the fictitious hospital setting for the series.

Some specific areas to be featured include the hospital's LifeFlight helipad, various hospital entrances and the original main lobby on North Avenue. Hospital officials say that filming won't impact patient care or hospital operations.

"We are thrilled to welcome the production of 'The Pitt' to AGH as it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase on a national level our beautiful hospital which has proudly operated in the heart of the City of Pittsburgh and the North Side for more than a century," hospital president Dr. Imran Qadeer said in a release.

While some scenes will be filmed onsite at Allegheny General, most interior scenes will be filmed on set at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. The set was designed to replicate the hospital, with special attention paid to the architectural and historic details of the more than 100-year-old hospital.
