Pittsburgh To Implement New Trash Ticketing System
Ignoring garbage regulations in Pittsburgh could soon bring you an instant citation.
PITTSBURGH, PA — People who improperly store their trash in violation of city regulations now can be fined under legislation approved Tuesday by city council.
The fines will be issued for violations such as putting containers out too early or bringing them in too late on collection days, accumulating garbage, storing trash outside of a tightly sealed can and contaminating recycling.
There will be escalating fine amounts, with the first violation bringing a $35 citation, the second a $50 one and the third in a calendar year a $100 one.
