PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh mall has lost a major anchor tenant.
Dick's Sporting Goods at the Pittsburgh Mills mall in Frazer closed on Sunday, Triblive reported.
The move comes as Dick's prepares to open its new store at the Waterworks in Aspinwall, about 15 minutes south of the Frazer store. According to Dick's website, the store will have a grand opening weekend June 20-22.

The new Dick's will open in a former Walmart location that closed in 2022. The grand opening weekend will include an appearance by Steelers starting cornerback Joey Poter Jr., who will be at the store from 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. on June 21.
Dick's closure leaves Macy's as the struggling Pittsburgh Mills' sole remaining anchor, but it is unclear how long the department store will remain open there.

In April, a prospective from real estate company Colliers said the two-story, 173,000-square-foot store, which Macy's owns rather than leases was for sale.
In January, the retailer announced it is moving forward with plans to close 66 stores. Over three years in a plan described as Macy’s “Bold New Chapter,” the company plans to close 150 underperforming stores while at the same time investing more heavily in 350 stores that will remain
open.
