Pittsburgh Man Accused Of Killing Father

A manhunt is on for a Pittsburgh man who police say killed his father.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County police are searching for a man charged in the shooting death of his father in East Pittsburgh last week.

At 10:35 p.m. on September 16, Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police responded to a report of shots fired inside a residence in the 500 block of Ridge Avenue. First responders discovered the victim, Ta'Ron Reid, 45, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Through witness interviews, detectives determined Ta’Ron’s son, Tayron Reid, 19, was responsible for the shooting. After consultation with the district attorney’s office, a criminal homicide charge was filed against Tayron Reid last week.

Tayron Reid's last known address is in the Hill District. He is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs about approximately 150 pounds and is potentially armed and dangerous. If seen, county police say do not approach and call 911.
