Pittsburgh Pizza Makers Nationally Recognized

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh-based chain Caliente Pizza & Draft House achieved impressive recognition at the recent 2024 Pizza Industry Excellence, taking home three major honors: the Community Involvement Award, Best Pizza Box Design, and Pizza Company of the Year in the Mid-Atlantic.

The awards, presented by Pizza Today, recognize outstanding achievements in the pizza world and highlight people who make meaningful contributions to the pizza industry.

The Caliente crew also traveled to Orlando recently for the Pizza Tomorrow Summit, which hosts pizza-making competitions such as speed, largest stretch and ingredient innovation. They fared well in the following events:

  • Largest Stretch Competition: Caliente's Matt Hickey finished first, Jay Falk took second and Perry Bogacz came in third.
  • Fastest Stretch Competition: Jay Falk finished third.
  • Secret Ingredient Competition: Jay Falk finished third.

Known for hosting pizza-making competitions such as speed, largest stretch and ingredient innovation.

"These awards reflect the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our entire team,” Caliente owner Nick Bogacz said. “We’re incredibly proud to be recognized in both our community and industry."
