Pittsburgh Police Officer, Shooting Suspect, Woman Shot

A Pittsburgh police office, a homicide suspect and a woman were shot on Friday in a suburban Pittsburgh community and a city neighborhood.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A city police officer was shot in the city's East Hills section on Friday as a suspect and his woman companion also were wounded.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials confirmed that the officer and another person were taken to a hospital from the 2200 block of Wilmer Drive.

The officer's condition is not believed to be life-threatening. The other person believed to have been shot is a suspect in a fatal shooting earlier Friday at the Pittsburgh Motel in Robinson Township. That person is in critical condition.

The officer and the suspect have not yet been identified.

At 1:04 p.m., county 911 was notified of a shooting in 4200 block of Steubenville Pike in Robinson. A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was located in the 4400 block of Steubenville Pike suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Authorities said the woman was shot during a domestic dispute. The male victim was the motel manager, who was intervening in the dispute when he was shot and killed.
