Pittsburgh Restaurant Suddenly Shuts Down

Without warning, a Pittsburgh eatery has locked its doors.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Sultry Food & Bar on East Carson Street on the South Side, has closed abruptly and permanently.

"With heavy hearts, we share that we're making the difficult decision to close our doors. This year has presented challenges that have become too much to bear," a message on the restaurant's website stated. "We’re grateful for the love and support you've shown us over the past 5 years. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’ve cherished every."

While the eatery is closed for regular service effective immediately, it plan to hold the last of its Sunday Suppers with the date and menu to be announced later. "It would mean the world to us to share this final meal with you," the message stated.

Co-owners Brian Foerrester and Melissa Barth originated their dining concept in 2019 at Smallman Galley in the Strip District, then moved to Federal Galley on the North Side. They had been in their own space on the South Side since 2022.
