Pittsburgh Restaurant Ordered To Close

A Pittsburgh restaurant was found to have numerous issues and was shut down. Patch provides the details.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of Pho Minh Vietnamese Cuisine, on Penn Avenue, for multiple health code violations.

During a recent inspection, rodent droppings were found on the basement floor, dry storage area and kitchen. Rodent dropping were found on the shelf by the microwave, the overhead kitchen lights and the stairs leading to the kitchen.

Foods were found to be being stored at unsafe temperatures.

The sticker on the fire suppression hood indicated it had not been inspected in two years.

A "closed" placard is posted at an establishment when an imminent health hazard is identified at a restaurant or kitchen or if it has been operating without proper permits. It is unlawful to operate a food facility with a "closed" placard.

According to the inspection report, for the restaurant to reopen the following must occur:
  • An extensive deep cleaning.
  • Correction of all high and medium risk violations.
  • Adequate refrigeration of food.
  • An inspection of the fire suppression hood.
