Pittsburgh Restaurant Ordered To Close Immediately
A Pittsburgh eatery has been shut down by the Allegheny County Health Department.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has closed Caravan, a restaurant on Smithfield Street, Downtown, for various health code violations.
During a July 10 inspection, a live mouse was seen in the restaurant's dough preparation room. Old rodent droppings were found throughout the eatery.
Multiple instances of food being stored at unsafe temperatures were observed.

Employees were seen donning gloves and handling foods without utilizing proper handwashing procedures.
The restaurant was operating without a valid health permit.
