Pittsburgh Restaurant Scene 2026: Plenty Of New Places To Try

Pittsburgh saw a plethora of new restaurants open in 2025. Patch provides a list of some of the more notable ones.

PITTSBURGH, PA — For those who enjoy dining out in and around Pittsburgh, a new year's resolution for 2026 should be this: Visit as many of the new restaurants that opened in the city in recent months as possible.

There is something for everyone. Mexican, Mediterranean and Asian offerings are out there. So are casual burger and pizza joints. There are options aplenty.

The following is not an inclusive list, but here are some of the restaurants that debuted this year that caught Patch's attention:

  • Avva, Aspinwall: This Mediterranean eatery opened in April in the former Mike & Luke's Front Porch space.
  • Camino, Bloomfield: This Mexican restaurant opened in the Liberty Avenue space occupied for decades by Del's.
  • Cava, Oakland: This fast casual Mediterranean eatery that offers customizable bowls and pitas much like Chipotle's build-your-own model opened its first location on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
  • One By Spork, Garfield: This fine dining establishment raised a few eyebrows with its standard $275 -per-person food and drink price.
  • Palm Palm, Eastside: This latest offering from Pittsburgh restaurateur and real estate executive Herky Pollock has received rave reviews online since its debut.
  • Poulet Bleu, Lawrenceville: This Parisian-themed restaurant was named one of Pittsburgh's most popular eateries by online reservation website Open Table.
  • Shake Shack, Ross Park Mall: A year after opening its first Pittsburgh location in the Strip District, this national chain made its suburban Pittsburgh debut.
  • The Distillery Complex, South Side: This former rickhouse that was used to house barrels of aging spirits wasas transformed into a massive six-story bar and restaurant complex on the city's South Side.
  • Titusz, Lawrenceville: This Austro-Hungarian restaurant opened in the former Merchant Oyster Co. space in Lawrenceville.
