Pittsburgh Restaurant Vets Open New Lounge

PITTSBURGH, PA — A new restaurant has opened at The Maverick in the YMCA Building in East Liberty.

Hey Babe describes itself as "a craft cocktail-driven bar with zesty seasonal bites, moody lighting, vibey music, and a fun atmosphere. Hey Babe is… well, a total babe: a little bit fancy but never fussy, refined yet chill, sexy and also comfy."

Operated by Pittsburgh restaurant veterans Danielle Cain and Rob Hirst, the restaurant's website calls the lounge "a love letter to the East End. It begins and ends with seasonal delights to eat, drink, and most importantly share."

Cain and Hirst have held management positions at the Pittsburgh-based Big Burrito Restaurant Group, which operates eateries such as Mad Mex, Kaya, Soba, Casbah, Eleven, Alta Via, Alta Via Pizzeria and Umi.
