Pittsburgh School District Goes To Online Learning After Hoax Calls
A Pittsburgh-area school district told students and staff to stay home Monday after the district received what it believes are hoax threats.
CHURCHILL, PA — The Woodland Hills School District has announced that Monday will be a virtual learning day after the district received what it believes to be hoax "swatting" calls that began around 5 a.m.
Superintendent Daniel Castagna said while the district investigates the matter, students and staff should stay home and log in virtually for the school day.
On Sunday, Castagna said security would be bolstered today at Edgewood Elementary School after a reference to a possible school shooting at a school named Edgewood High School was made on social media.

Pennsylvania State Police have screen shots of the threat and have traced it to Fayette County, Castagna said. He was informed of the threat by the Edgewood Police Department.
Castagna said that no specific threat had been identified against Edgewood Elementary or any other Woodland Hills school.
