Pittsburgh To See Snow: Latest Forecast

Another wintry blast is on the way to the Pittsburgh area. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — An advancing cold front is expected to return snow and gusty wind to the region this afternoon through early Friday morning. Pittsburgh should see minor accumulations compared to neighboring counties, although the National Weather Service warns that snowfall could impact the Thursday morning commute.

Rain will begin overnight and transition to snow after 3 a.m. Less than an inch of snow is anticipated. Snow will continue on Thursday, although less than an inch again is expected. Less than half an inch of snow is forecast for Thursday night and Friday.

North of the city, Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for Butler, Armstrong, Indiana and Lawrence counties. Those counties should expect accumulations of 3 to 5 inches by Friday.

East and south of the city, in portions of Westmoreland and Fayette counties, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect and 6 to 9 inches of snow is anticipated.

Looking ahead, the bone-chilling temperatures the region has experienced for nearly a week will begin to moderate over the weekend. Highs will be in the mid-30s on Saturday and the mid- to upper 40s on Sunday and Monday.
