Pittsburgh Severe Weather Threat: Latest Update

The Pittsburgh area is under a severe weather threat on Monday. Patch provides the details.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Prepare for some unsettled weather, Pittsburgh.

The National Weather Service says a cold front moving across the Upper Ohio Valley region will bring
showers and thunderstorms that could result in excessive rainfall and flooding. In addition, stronger storms Monday afternoon could bring a damaging wind threat.

The cold front is expected to stall across southern portions of the region and the risk for heavy rain continues into midweek.

Today, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Clouds will increase and it will be hot. The high temperature will be near 91, the weather service says. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

The storms will continue tonight, mainly before 2 a.m. The chance of precipitation remains at 60 percent.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms will persist on Tuesday, mainly after 8 a.m. am. The chance of storms is 40 percent.
