Pittsburgh TV Station Names New News Anchor

A Pittsburgh TV reporter has been promoted to an anchor position. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV has named a new weekend anchorperson. Lily Coleman will anchor alongside meteorologist Jill Szwed for the station's 5 a.m.-7 a.m. and 8 a.m.-10 a.m. newscasts on Saturday and Sunday.

Coleman will continue her reporting duties Monday through Wednesday.

Coleman is a second-generation news anchor. Her mother, Amy Bradley, was a longtime news anchor at WJAC-TV in Johnstown.

"As a little girl, I used to play 'news anchor' — reading old scripts of my mom's that she would bring home for me, while wearing a blazer I stole from her closet (sorry Mom haha).," Coleman posted on her Facebook page. "I think little Lily would be proud that she's making it happen. I couldn't do it alone, though, so thanks to all who have helped along the way.

According to her biography on the station website, Coleman attended Ohio University and graduated cum laude from the E.W.Scripps School of Journalism. She spent the last four years working at WOWK-TV in Charleston WV, before joining WTAE.
