Pittsburgh Weather: Latest Info On Heat, Storms, Flood Threats
The weather in Pittsburgh will be anything but calm this weekend.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Weather issues will remain in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania for the next several days.
A heat advisory remains in effect for the area until 8 p.m. Friday evening. The National Weather Service says heat index values of up to 100 degrees could cause heat-related illnesses.
The weather service advises people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

There also is a risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The main hazard is expected to be damaging wind gusts. In addition, locally heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding.
An active pattern is then expected through early next week with periodic showers and thunderstorms, and the potential for locally heavy rainfall at times. There will be a chance of slow-moving storms with heavy rainfall and the threat for flash flooding.

Sunday will be the best chance for area-wide dry weather through early next week.
