PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman is facing numerous charges after allegedly throwing a one-year-old infant to the ground following a verbal and physical altercation with the infant's father.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, Shataiya Troutman, 30, was inside the entrance to the Downtown Municipal Courts Building when the incident occurred. When the father told her he could not take the infant from her because he had business to attend to inside the building, Troutman threw the infant on the ground and hit the father in the head before leaving the facility.

Multiple deputies and City of Pittsburgh police officers responded to the scene during which a Pittsburgh homicide detective was able to get the license plate for Troutman’s vehicle and broadcast that information over the radio.
