Police Probe Downtown Pittsburgh Shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday in the Downtown Cultural District.

Just after 2:30 a.m., an officer working a detail on Ninth Street was flagged down by a person reporting a possible shooting victim outside.

The officer requested backup and police located an unconscious man on the ground at Ninth Street and Penn Avenue with a gunshot wound to his arm. Officers applied a tourniquet to the wound.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The mobile crime unit processed the scene.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Police have not identified any suspects.
