Police Probing Pittsburgh-Area Double Homicide

Two people are dead after a shooting inside a Pittsburgh-area residence Tuesday.

HOMESTEAD, PA — Allegheny County police are investigating the shooting deaths of two people at a residence here on Tuesday.

County 911 was notified at 4:14 p.m. of shots fired inside a home in the 100 block of West 15th Ave. Homestead police responded and hailed the residence. When they received no response, they asked for assistance from the county SWAT team believing a suspect was inside.

The SWAT team discovered a man and woman dead inside the home. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as Antoinette Porterfield, 45, of Homestead, and John West, 54, of West Mifflin.

Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
