Popular Pittsburgh Bar Closing Location After Decades-Long Run

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's last call for a popular Pittsburgh bar.

The Smiling Moose, a staple on East Carson Street on the South Side for more than two decades, announced on Facebook Saturday that it will be closing at the end of the month.

"In recent years, our business model had changed and we have decided to put our focus on building business at our Cranberry Township restaurant and our Grove City brewery location," the post stated.

"Together, we've created so many incredible memories, transformed lives, hosted amazing shows and brought so much joy to so many people. It's truly unreal. All we can do is say thank you making a dream a reality for 23 unbelievable years...thank you all again for 23 years of amazingness."
