Popular Pittsburgh Bar Raided, Padlocked

PITTSBURGH, PA — A popular Oakland sports bar was raided and shut down Tuesday by liquor control agents.
The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, along with Pittsburgh and Allegheny County agencies, raided the Panther Pit on Meyran Avenue. Nearly 350 gallons of liquor and 80 gallons of beer were confiscated, state police said in a release.
According to state police, Tuesday's raid was the third at the bar since last year. The tavern also has been cited about 20 times for permitting underage drinking.

The bar was padlocked and a condemnation notice was placed on the door Tuesday, WTAE-TV reported.
It's unclear when - or if - the tavern will reopen.
