Popular Pittsburgh Eatery Receives Consumer Alert

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Noodlehead, on South Highland Avenue in Shadyside, for numerous health code violations.
An inspection occurred after multiple complaints of people becoming ill after eating at the eatery.
The high-risk violations included the following foods being stored at temperatures above the safe maximum of 41 degrees:

- Cooked rice noodles: 55 degrees.
- Bean sprouts: 63 degrees.
- Wheat noodles: 58 degrees.
- Rice noodles: 75 degrees.
Utensils were found in dirty, stagnant water.
An employee was observed loading dirty dishes into a dish washing machine and then unloading clean dishes without properly washing their hands or preventing bare hand contact.

A restaurant with a consumer alert placard is allowed to operate for a temporary period not exceeding 10 days. Another inspection is conducted either prior to the expiration of the temporary period upon request of the eatery owner or on the tenth day.
