Potholes Prompt Criminal Charges Against Pittsburgh Mall Owner
Deplorable road conditions at a Pittsburgh mall have resulted in the mall owner facing a criminal charge.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala's office has filed a criminal complaint against the owner of the Pittsburgh Mills Mall that contends the lack of road maintenance around the mall has created a public nuisance.
Zappala's office filed the charge Wednesday against Pitt Galleria Realty LLC and its parent company, Namdar Realty Group.
The criminal complaint alleges that Namdar has collected payment from mall businesses to upkeep the roads but it is unclear how the funds have been allocated.

Roads around the mall are "riddled by large potholes, making it extremely difficult to navigate," the complaint states. "These conditions pose a potential hazard for first responders, pedestrians,
and motorists who travel the road daily."
Zappala’s office has issued a warrant asking for U.S. Bank documents that will provide details related to the payments.
