President Trump Coming To Pittsburgh Next Week

PITTSBURGH, PA — President Donald Trump will be in Pittsburgh next week to give the keynote speech at the annual Shale Insight conference, the Marcellus Shale Coalition confirmed Wednesday.

His speech is Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

According to organizers, the Shale Insight conference "is a leading and widely-attended policy, innovation and energy outlook-focused forum." It is hosted jointly by the Marcellus Shale Coalition, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, and the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association.

Marcellus Shale Coalition President David Spigelmyer, in a statement announcing the visit, said the group is "excited and grateful" to welcome the president.

“With President Trump’s leadership, America’s energy revolution is driving environmental progress and providing benefits, including a manufacturing rebirth, that are making our nation stronger and more secure," Spigelmyer said.

It is Trump’s second appearance at the conference. He provided closing remarks in 2016, when he was running as the Republican candidate against Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Everyone entering the David L. Lawrence Convention Center will be required to display their official registration passes, general admission wristbands, or media credentials, conference organizers said.
