PITTSBURGH, PA — A stray cat found Friday near Imani Christian Academy in the city's East Hills section tested positive for rabies, Allegheny County Health Department officials said.

The cat appeared sick and non-responsive when it was discovered.

The discovery prompted the health department to remind people to avoid contact with wild animals or animals they do not know. People should have their pets vaccinated and watch for
unusual behavior. If animals appear to be acting strange or become threatening, an animal control service, the police or the Pennsylvania Game Commission should be notified.
