School Janitor Nabbed With Drugs On District Property: Police

A Pittsburgh-area school district janitor had hundreds of bags of drugs on him in a school building parking lot, police said.

McKEESPORT, PA — A McKeesport Area School District janitor is facing criminal charges after police said he was found with hundreds of packets of drugs on him in a school building parking lot.

Police said they noticed a vehicle with its lights on in the Founders Hall Middle School on Aug. 30. An officer approached the driver, Jason Tom, 42, of North Versaille, who police said was acting suspiciously.

Tom was told to exit the vehicle and admitted to having stamp bags on him. Police counted approximately 270 bags of suspected heroin and/or fentanyl on him.

Tom is facing two misdemeanor drug-related charges. He has a hearing scheduled for October.
