Severe Storms, Possible Tornadoes Forecast For Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — Strong to severe thunderstorms, as well as isolated tornadoes, are expected in Pittsburgh and throughout Western Pennsylvania this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service expects the storms to occur between 4 p.m.-9 p.m. The risk of tornadoes will be highest south of the city.

The main impacts from this weather event will be damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain.

Strong winds will be prevalent across the area regardless of the severity of any storms, with widespread gusts above 35 mph likely today and Tuesday.

Today's high temperature will be in the lower 70s. Expect much colder weather tomorrow, with an expected high only in the lower 50s.
