Severe Storms, Tornado Threats Returns To Pittsburgh Area

The National Weather Service is predicting more severe weather for the Pittsburgh area on Thursday.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Two days after a devastating line of storms passed through the region, more severe weather could be on the way Thursday.

The National Weather Service says the general arrival time for the storms is 2 p.m.-5 p.m. They could last until 7 p.m.-9 p.m.

The weather service says the main threats from the storms will be gusty winds and hail. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

On Tuesday, parts of Pittsburgh saw wind gusts as high as 95 mph. That’s the wind speed of an EF-1 tornado.

The weather service believes severe weather is possible again on Friday, but has yet to provide details.
