Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Pittsburgh, Much Of PA
The National Weather Service believes conditions are ripening for severe weather in a wide area across Pennsylvanithat includes Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The chance for severe weather occurring in Pittsburgh today seems to be increasing. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a wide swath of Pennsylvania extending north to the New York border, south to the West Virginia and Maryland and east past Harrisburg.
In the watch area, isolated tornadoes are possible. Winds of as high as 75 mph are likely and hail up to two inches in diameter is possible, according to the weather service.
The watch is in effect until 7 p.m., but severe thunderstorm warnings already have been issued and storms are occurring n effect for areas north of Pittsburgh such as New Castle, Templeton and East Brady.
