Sheetz One Of Nation's Top Workplaces: Fortune

PITTSBURGH, PA — Sheetz, the convenience store chain that is a ubiquitous presence in Western Pennsylvania, has been recognized as one of America's best places to be employed. The Altoona-based company came in second on Fortunes Best Workplaces in Retail list, trailing only the Wegmans grocery store chain.
Sheetz was the only convenience store company to make the list.
"Being ranked second on this list, alongside highly respected and esteemed companies that also prioritize a positive workplace environment, is a significant accomplishment for us and not something that we take lightly," Sheetz president Travis Sheetz said in a statement.

The second-place finish is Sheetz's highest ranking yet and is the ninth consecutive year the company has made the Fortune list.

To produce the ranking, Fortune partnered with the people analytics firm Great Place to Work, has been surveying employees around the world about their workplace experiences for 30 years. Great Place to Work has developed a set of themes and metrics that not only reveal whether employees feel their workplace is great, but also predict retention, agility and overall business success.
