Special Needs Student, 5, Assaulted At Pittsburgh-Area School: Police
Police have charged a teacher's aide with assault and other charges in connection with an incident involving a 5-year-old student.
WHITE OAK, PA —A teacher's aide is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a 5-year-old boy with special needs at Francis McClure Elementary School in White Oak.
Allegheny County police said Tuesday that they investigated a ChildLine report of the incident, which occurred at the school playground on Nov. 7. According to police, video from the school shows that the aide, Amy Kevicki, 53, grabbed the child by the back of the neck and shoved him forward to the ground before walking back to the school building.
The child was not injured.

After consultation with the district attorney’s office, Kevicki has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, and summary harassment.
