St. Louis-Style Pizza Headed East To Pittsburgh
What is St. Louis-style pizza? The Pittsburgh area is about to find out.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A slice of the Midwest is coming to Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh-based Caliente Pizza & Draft House chain is introducing St. Louis-style pizza to an updated menu. The pie is known for its Provel cheese blend, extremely thin crust and tomato sauce. According to St. Louis-based Imo's Pizza, Provel is a combination of cheddar, swiss and provolone that was invented in St. Louis in 1947.
“St. Louis-style pizza is one of my favorite styles and I am excited to share it with our city,” said Nick Bogacz, Founder and CEO of Caliente Pizza & Draft House. “We’re proud to bring something new and unexpected to Pittsburgh—made the Caliente way, with championship precision and flavor.”

In an update of the Caliente menu, the St. Louis-style launch coincides with the debut of District Manager Jay Falk’s Championship Pizza from last year's Real California Cheese Pizza competition held in the Napa Valley. It's a unique dairy based white sauce pizza with a blend of California Cheeses and Lemon Zest.
Also debuting in the new menu is four New New York Style Calzones that includes the Classic Cobble Hill. It's a Calzone with Ham, mozzarella and Ricotta cheeses. All four New Calzones and the rest of the new menu will be available on June 3rd.
