Steelers Schedule Numerous Activities To Kick Off Football Season

Here's a look at the voluminous events the Steelers have organized in advance of their Sept. 7 opening game against the New York Jets.

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's football season, folks, and the Steelers are planning a series of events leading up to the Sept. 7 opener on the road against the New York Jets and former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields.

“The start of the Steelers regular season is always an exciting time for Steelers Nation,” said Ryan Huzjak, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Pittsburgh Steelers. “As fans ready for the return of football traditions and the Steelers game day atmosphere, we’re thrilled to present a full week of activities designed to channel that energy and build anticipation for the season ahead.”

  • 2025 Kickoff and Rib Festival (Thursday, Aug. 28 - Monday, Sept. 1)

The annual Kickoff and Rib Festival features 12 nationally recognized rib vendors, plus football, free concerts, food, and fun for all. Admission to the festival grounds is free. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Labor Day activities include:
• “BBQ & Blues Monday” featuring Guitar Jack at 1:30 p.m., The Jimmy Adler Band at 3 p.m., House of Soul at 4:30 p.m. and Billy Price at 6:30 p.m.
• Labor Day Festival Hours are 12-9 p.m.

  • 37th Annual Run and Walk 5K (Monday, Sept. 1)

Offered in person and virtually, the 5K is a highlight of the annual Kickoff and Rib Festival taking place through September 1 at Acrisure Stadium. The race/walk raises funds for the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund and the Chuck Noll Foundation and features a 3.1-mile level course on the North Shore highlighted by a finish on the Acrisure Stadium warning track.
All registrants receive automatic entry to win an autographed prize and a grand prize trip to the Steelers home opener vs. the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 14. Registrants also receive a commemorative 2025 medal, t-shirt and goodie bag.

  • Social Media Day of Giveaways (Tuesday, Sept. 2)

Steelers fans will be celebrated with a special day of giveaways. Throughout the day, fans will have opportunities to win exclusive prizes including home opener game tickets and autographed items.

  • Student Rush Campus Coffee Pop-Ups, (Tuesday, Sept. 2 and Wednesday, Sept. 3)

To mark the return of Steelers Student Rush the Steelers will host Coffee Pop-Ups on the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University campuses.

• University of Pittsburgh Campus, William Pitt Union Plaza (Tuesday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.) • Duquesne University Campus, Main Academic Walk near Rooney Field (Wednesday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
Students who are signed up for Steelers Student Rush will receive free flavored iced coffee, Steelers-branded giveaways and have the opportunity to print custom cookies with their photos on them courtesy of Becca Bakes Cookies, while supplies last. Steely McBeam will be on hand to welcome students.

Steelers Student Rush, the team’s signature program for college students, offers affordable, authentic and memorable Steelers football experiences at Acrisure Stadium via a limited standing room only ticket inventory for each home game. Tickets are priced at a student-friendly rate. To be eligible for Student Rush, individuals must be current college students with a valid “.edu” email address.

  • Surprise Visits to Classrooms of a Pittsburgh Public School (Thursday, Sept. 4)

Some of the Steelers youngest fans will also have an opportunity to celebrate the kickoff of regular season. The Steelers will delight classrooms of a select Pittsburgh Public School throughout the afternoon of Sept. 4 with a surprise appearance by Steely McBeam and Black & Gold giveaways.

  • Steelers Kickoff Pop-Up Bar (Friday, Sept. 5 – Sunday, Sept. 7)

Located in the Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, the Steelers Kickoff Pop up Bar will transform the Grant Street Lobby area of the hotel into a Black & Gold themed hub where fans can meet, socialize, and build excitement together before kickoff.

  • Steelers Activation at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival (Saturday, Sept. 6)

The Steelers are headed to Ireland but first will make a stop at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival with a special Steelers activation on Saturday, Sept. 6. Fans can participate in a 40-yard dash and quarterback toss and can visit the Steelers plinko board for a chance to win prizes.

  • Steelers Nation Unite Road Warriors Rally at Wicked Wolf Tavern in Hoboken, New Jersey (Saturday, Sept. 6)

Steelers Nation Unite Road Warriors returns as the Steelers take on the New York Jets. The party will feature an appearance by Steelers Legend & Hall of Famer Alan Faneca, a full menu of food and drinks for purchase, and SNR broadcasting live.
