Student Dies In Penn State Harrisburg Campus Shooting
A Penn State Harrisburg student died in an on-campus shooting that occurred Monday.
HARRISBURG, PA — A student at Penn State's Harrisburg campus died on Wednesday, two days after shooting himself on campus.
According to the Penn State police crime log, the incident was reported at 8:52 p.m. on Monday as a "student expressing concern for another student" outside of the Olmstead Building. The case remained open as of Friday afternoon.
A 20-year-old man was found on a bench, according to PennLive.The man had a gunshot wound to the head that appeared to be self-inflicted and was bleeding from the head. He was awake when emergency personnel arrived but not alert.

The Penn State Harrisburg campus communications office provided this statement to Patch:
"An individual student-related incident occurred on campus on the evening of Monday, December 9, 2024. Out of respect for the student's and family's privacy, we cannot provide specific details.

"We were deeply saddened to learn of this situation. It has impacted our entire Penn State Harrisburg community, and the student and their family and friends are in our thoughts. We are in the process of offering assistance and support to his family and all of those who we are aware have been impacted. Our focus is on providing support for our campus community at this time."
