Suitcase Found In Pittsburgh Contained Thousands Of Heroin Bags

A suitcase apparently abandoned in Pittsburgh was packed with heroin, police said.

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's unlikely anyone will claim this baggage.

A person came across a suitcase full of suspected heroin on Glenrose Street in the city's Fineview section and notified police, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said Thursday. Police located the luggage and also a backpack containing similarly packaged heroin.

A police K-9 indicated that both the suitcase and backpack contained narcotics.

The final count tallied 4,688 bricks of heroin, police said.

No suspects have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
