Tens Of Thousands Still Without Power In Pittsburgh: Latest Info

Tens of thousands of Duquesne Light customers woke up in the dark Monday morning.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Tens of thousands of people remained without power Monday morning after high winds pummeled the region Sunday evening.

As of 7:45 a.m., the Duquesne Light website's outage page indicated 42,744 customers without power - 37,730 in Allegheny County and 5,161 in Beaver County.

It is unclear when service will be restored.

"Due to the severe weather that moved through the area Sunday evening, crews are currently assessing damage," a message on the website stated. "Individual estimated restoration times will be added to the outages listed on the map once available."

Duquesne Light says any downed wires or outages should be reported by calling 1-888-393-7000 or by visiting www.DuquesneLight.com.

The highest wind gust reported in Western Pennsylvania Sunday was 61 mph in Pittsburgh, according to the National Weather Service.

Breezy conditions will continue today, though winds will not be as strong as they were yesterday. The weather service says gusts could be as high as 33 mph.
