These Are Pittsburgh's 2025 Billionaires: Forbes

Forbes has published a comprehensive list of the world's billionaires. Find out here which ones are from Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — There are 902 billionaires in the United States in 2025 and four of them reside in the Pittsburgh area, according to Forbes' annual list of the world's wealthiest people worldwide.

Overall, 3,028 people are in this year's ranking, 247 more than a year ago. Their overall wealth is $16.1 trillion, an increase of nearly $2 million over 2024.

The world's richest man unsurprisingly remains Elon Musk, the controversial head of the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency. Musk, whose holdings include Tesla, SpaceX and artificial intelligence startup xAI, is worth $342 billion, according to Forbes.

The four billionaires from Pittsburgh, their worth according to Forbes and their overall global wealth ranking:

  • Ed Stack and family, $4.6 billion (673): Stack, 70, is the executive chairman and largest individual shareholder of Pittsburgh-based Dick's Sporting Goods.
  • Thomas Tull, $3.7 billion (979): Tull, 54, is the former film financier and founder of production company Legendary Entertainment as well as a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Maggie Hardy, $3.6 billion (1,015): Hardy, 59, is the president and CEO of Pittsburgh-based 84 Lumber, one of the nation's largest privately-owned building materials suppliers.
  • Louis von Ahn, $1.1 billion (2,790): von Ahn, 46, is the CEO and co-founder of Pittsburgh-based language learning app Duolingo.
