These Were Allegheny Health Network's 2024 Top Baby Names
Allegheny Health Network has released a list of the most popular names for babies delivered at its facilities last year.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Allegheny Health Network has revealed the most popular names given to babies born in its maternity care units last year. For baby boys, Oliver captured the top spot; for girls, it was Olivia.
In 2024, nearly 8,400 babies were born across the network’s labor and delivery programs at AHN Forbes, AHN Jefferson, AHN Wexford, AHN West Penn and AHN Saint Vincent in Erie. The following names were the top 5 names for baby boys and girls:

- Owen

Baby Girls:
- Olivia
- Amelia
- Evelyn
- Charlotte
- Nora
“This is a fun, creative way to highlight our bustling labor and delivery programs, and the remarkable patient experiences created by our exceptional obstetricians, nurses, neonatologists, pediatricians, APPs and lactation consultants,” Dr. Marcia Klein-Patel, chair of AHN Women’s Institute, said in a release.

Owen, Charlotte and Olivia have all remained in the top five for both girls and boys for the second consecutive year. Charlotte was the No. 1 girl’s name in 2023.
Noah, the No. 1 seed in 2023, dropped to No. 15 in the baby boy category, while Amelia made a large jump from outside the top 15 in 2023 to No. 2 in the baby girl category in 2024.
More than 2,100 baby names were original for the network in 2024 – used only one time. In all, parents used more than 3,100 different names.
