Toddler Drowns In Pittsburgh-Area Pool

PITTSBURGH, PA — Authorities are investigating the drowning death of a 2-year-old child in the Pittsburgh area Monday night.

Allegheny County police said that shortly after 7 p.m., 911 was notified of the drowning in Stowe Township on the 1100 block of 12th Street. First responders found residents performing CPR on the child, who was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

Preliminary information shows the child gained access to a neighbor’s pool.

The victim's name and further details have yet to be released.
