Tornado Occurred In Pittsburgh: National Weather Service

A tornado touched down in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado occurred Wednesday in the city's Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar section.

In a brief post on social media, the weather service said the tornado was a weak EF0. An EF0 is the least potent tornado on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with wind speeds between 65-85 mph. They generally cause minor damage such as broken windows, missing shingles and damaged siding and gutters.

No injuries were reported from the tornado, which occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday as severe storms moved through the area.
