Trump, Harris Events To Trigger Downtown Pittsburgh Early Dismissals
A plethora of people will be leaving Downtown Pittsburgh early Monday ahead of scheduled events by Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

PITTSBURGH, PA — There will be early dismissals aplenty in Downtown Pittsburgh Monday as presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris make campaign-concluding events in town.
Non-essential City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County workers will be allowed to leave at noon on Monday and at least one Downtown school - Pittsburgh CAPA - will operate on a half-day schedule in advance of the presidential nominees' appearances.
In a joint statement, County Executive Sara Innamorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey said: “With expected road closures and traffic for both rallies on Monday, we want county and city employees to be able to get home safely and with minimal disruption. We encourage everyone who visits downtown for a rally on Monday to respectfully and peacefully make their voice heard and we are looking forward to a smooth Election Day on Tuesday.”

The city and county also are encouraging individuals and businesses to avoid unnecessary travel in and around Downtown Monday afternoon to reduce traffic and parking congestion likely to be caused by the events.
The County Office Building will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Monday for ballot return. Other ballot return sites across the county will be open until 7 p.m. on Monday.
