HOMESTEAD, PA — One era ended in the Pittsburgh bar and restaurant scene ended last September. Blue Dust, a staple on Amity Street across the railroad tracks from The Waterfront, ended a nearly 15-year run when owner Jerry Miller decided to retire.

Less than a year later, Blue Dust's successor, Rogue BBQ, has opened.

“This is very exciting,” Zach Steiner, who co-owns Rogue with his wife, Amanda, told Patch.. “We’ve generated and nurtured a good following over the years. This is the next big step
we’re taking.”

If the Rogue name sounds familiar to some, there's a reason. Rogue is a well-established catering company run by the Steiners operates out of the Westwood Golf Club in West Mifflin and also
operates a food truck.

The catering company expanded into the mobile market in 2014 with a lone smoker and added smokers over the next two years to keep up with demand. Rogue added a porch trailer in 2017 and the food truck debuted in 2018.
