Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Pittsburgh, Western PA

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Pittsburgh and surrounding areas in Western Pennsylvania from 4 a.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Expect snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.

The weather service says to plan on slippery road conditions with potential quick bursts of snow that rapidly reduce visibilities. The hazardousconditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

In a release Thursday, Allegheny County Public Works officials said 30 salt trucks equipped with plows will be out on county roads. The county said drivers will provide around-the-clock coverage until the snow stops and all county-maintained roads are cleared.

The county has 10,510 tons of salt in stock.
