Body Found In Allegheny River In Plum

A man's body was found in the rising waters of the river Wednesday morning, police said.

PLUM, PA — Allegheny County police are investigating after a body was pulled from the Allegheny River at a Plum boat launch Wednesday morning.

Police said the body of an unidentified middle-aged white man was found in the water at the Logan's Ferry Boat Launch on Coxcomb Hill Road.

It's unclear if the death was related to the rising river waters as the remains of Hurricane Ida produced heavy rains and flooding in southwestern Pennsylvania overnight and during the morning.
