Elderly Oakmont Woman Struck And Killed By Train In Pittsburgh

A 78-year-old woman died Tuesday night after being hit by a train near the Waterworks Mall.

PITTSBURGH, PA — An elderly woman was struck and killed by a train Tuesday evening near the Waterworks Mall near Aspinwall. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Freeport Road.

The victim was identified as Ying-Fen Johnson, 78, of Oakmont.

It's unclear why she was walking along the railroad tracks.
