• Springfield police reports: Hotel guest steals from vehicle, raft of retails (delcotimes.com) — Springfield police logged a busy mid-December with vehicle break-ins, retail thefts along Baltimore Pike, and a hotel guest accused of stealing from cars at the Days Inn. Officers also handled fights at Springfield Mall, vandalism on several residential streets, a DUI hit-and-run, and multiple arrests involving suspects from nearby towns and Philadelphia. 
• Girls Basketball: DiTrolio, young Springfield learning from first losses (delcotimes.com) — Springfield High’s girls basketball team just took its first two losses of the season at Cardinal O’Hara’s holiday showcase but sees them as valuable lessons before Central League play heats up. Senior guard Lil DiTrolio and a strong group of underclassmen, including sister Adi and freshman Alice Murphy, are gearing up to host undefeated Garnet Valley in a key league test this Saturday.
