Week Ahead: Arts, Crafts at the Mall, Blood Drives

What's going on this week in the Springfield Township area? Here's what we found but be sure to add anything we may have missed in the comments below.

• Kid Zone, a program with books, crafts and games, at 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Springfield Library for ages Kindergarten through Second Grade. Registration is not required. Call 610-543-2113
• Giggle Gang at Springfield Mall at 10 a.m. on Aug. 1. Have fun with arts and crafts with the Community Arts Center of Wallingford. 
• Springfield Road in Springfield Township is closed between Route 1 (State Road) and Old Marple Road on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of August.
• American Red Cross Blood Drive on July 29, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Denis Grimes Center, Brookline Fire Company, 1315 Darby Road in Havertown and on July 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Swarthmore College, 500 College Avenue in Swarthmore
• Media Theatre's The Vocalist (formerly Delco Idol) continues on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 7. FOX-TV's Sue Serio emcees once again in the popular singing contest. Tickets: $15. Call 610-891-0100.
