Health Inspections In Wayne, Devon And Paoli In December
The state Department of Agriculture inspectors stopped in restaurants in the Tredyffrin/Easttown area from Dec. 1-14.
WAYNE/BERWYN/PAOLI— Health inspectors paid visits to numerous establishments in the the Wayne, Berwyn and Paoli areas on the Upper Main Line during the first two weeks of December.
Inspectors found some establishments in violation of health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. See places inspected, and a number of violations found:
- Thai Orchid Inc., 556 W. Lancaster Ave, Berwyn: 11 violations including the person in charge not performing duties, coconut milk left in the can, raw chicken found near lettuce, linens covering unpackaged food, food contact surfaces not sanitized, floors and walls need cleaning, the dead mouse found near wok, roaches in glue traps, certified pest control operator required.
- La Cabra Brew Pub, 642 Lancaster Ave., Berwyn: 10 violations including dented cans of pepper in the dry storage area, used knives in between lids, and shellstock without tags in the refrigerator.
- Philly Cheesesteaks, Easttown, 676 Lancaster Ave.: 3 violations including dented cans of tomato sauce in a dry good area, fly-glue trap above the deli-slicer, and food not dated.
- Casa Capri Pizza, 180 Greene Plaza, Waynesburg: 4 violations: food prep workers not wearing hair nets, knives stored in between counters, and ceiling tiles need to be replaced.
- Wendy’s 115 Green Plaza, Waynesburg: one violation: improper reheating of chili.
- Courtyard Cafe By Marriott, Devon: one violation: 4 violations: daily items past manufactured dates, items stored in the refrigerator at incorrect temperature, thermometers for ensuring proper temperature are not available, and some equipment not in good shape.
- St. Davids Golf Club, 845 Radnor Street, Wayne: four violations: wet clothes not sanitized, non-food surfaces not cleaned, ice buckets wet, chipped paint on wall near ice machines.
- Cafe Pom, 19 Paoli Plaza, Paoli: 5 violations, sewer pipe stored in the kitchen, separation barrier in lower food level kitchen front food table, tags outdated, cracked surfaces, not certified food employee as required.
